Traffic Relief and Transportation
Jason has broad experience with traffic relief and transportation. Jason was an early and key Leader on 2016’s Measure B, the $6.3 Billion traffic relief and transportation measure. He helped shape the expenditure plan, voted to put it on the ballot and helped get it passed. Jason served on the Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) Board where he helped direct funds to reduce traffic, work for a more bikable, walkable community and helped improve transit including light rail and Caltrain, as well as advocating for Bart to San Jose and Santa Clara. Jason also served as the Santa Clara Cities’ representative to the nine-county Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) as one of three representatives in the County, along with Supervisor Cortese and Mayor Liccardo. In that role, Jason voted to help create a bay-area-wide bike share expansion, including 1,000 new bikeshare bikes in San Jose. At MTC, Jason also advocated for Santa Clara County priorities including the Eastridge lightrail extension, more funding for safer crossings for Caltrain, and an all-electric bus pilot program for VTA.
